I knew this would happen if the Switch was successful. Its definitely a trend with any console that if there is an audience or popularity developers will put their games on the system ASAP. Its one of the main reasons the Wii U failed from a sales perspective. The great thing about this is the more people buy switches the more great games will come out for it and the more great games the more people buy switches. With Christmas around the corner and the release of Mario Odyssey(meaning even more Switch owners) there is going to be a massive horde of people who are desperate to buy games for this system. Developers pick up on those trends and we will start to see a lot of games in 2018 and even more in 2019.

If they do this, it will probably fix the major roadblock preventing me from picking up a Switch (other than availability) - the lack of games that appeal to me. I will be able to internally justify the hardware and the games, then. Right now, there's not enough there for me to drop money on it.

Still, it depends on who jumps on board. Nostalgia gameplay only goes so far. Storied open world games are my jam now. (EA isn't a make-or-break publisher for me. The Anthem article covers my disdain for EA's marketing.) Also, I won't be getting games for the Switch if I already own them elsewhere.
