Forza 7 is a RIPOFF?

Game News: Forza 7 is a RIPOFF?

Forza Motorsport 7 is about to hit the streets (for those who aren't VIP, at least), and fans are crying foul that the game has been fundamentally changed to expect gamers to drop extra money on microtransactions, and VIP has been nerfed without warning.

Oh look, another game took something that used to be expected and permanent, and turned it into a perishable feature that can be bought to get your fix.

    #MicrotransactionGate

I have never paid for a microtransaction. So, any game that makes it effectively required will not be in my library.

That said, there is one scenario that comes to mind where I feel a little guilty about not partaking in microtransactions. GTA Online has made it so you don't need them and can still enjoy the game without ever dropping an extra cent. They're getting nothing from me for continuing to support and provide for the online content. I feel a little wrong for that. I might need to reconsider my abhorrence for microtransactions just so I can fairly support them - but only them. Nobody else has yet convinced me to keep supporting them after purchasing the game.

I'm curious on people's opinions on subscriptions versus PPV-style of gaming buffs and advances.

I get that this is greed... sorry business... but seriously? This is why regulations needed to be brought in in when it comes to trade descriptions - software companies should be held just as accountable to in terms of properly describing their products and I think the Chinese law requiring loot box contents and frequency tables is a good start but it would also be good to see an expected progression and completion speed for games too; RPGs are meant to take a long time, that's what people buy them for a slow and steady game but high-speed sports car racing games are not about the slow and steady... never have been, never will be unless they become bal and chained with microtransactions - well done M$ you live up to your name again...

this will be the 1st forza i dont buy.  Horizons 3 was bad enough £80 for the ultimate version and then there was £20 of dlc that diddnt include.  I expect forza 7 to have those same levels of buy ins, so a £100 game that wants you to cough up to basically advance at a speed consistent with the older titles in the series sod it.

Great, another game to the list which I won’t be buying because of this BS.  Thanks, microtransactions, for saving me lots of money this year.
