Video Game Voice Actor Strike OVER!

Game News: Video Game Voice Actor Strike OVER!

It looks like the video game voice actor's strike is over! Is everything completely worked out and will everybody live happily ever after? Well that might be stretching it a little bit, but hey, at least the union and publishers will work together again. For now.

shame they couldn't get those residuals, but it sounds like they did well for themselves in end. Who all does get resuduals anyways? the publishers mostly I assume. what about the devs and the musicians? is it a case-by-case thing? or is there a standard that's mostly adheard to? ya'll could probably make an entertaining and educational Know episode about that. Or I could just bother to google it... nah.

Given how the video game composers were left to starve for so long with their union's mandatory strike - going as far as to sue one of their award winning composers for taking an indie project during the strike which should have been outside of the union's jurisdiction, I'm glad the strike is over. People need to eat.

I was surprised that safety wasn't something that was always up-front with voice-actors. It seemed like a no-brainer. If it wasn't for the strike, I would never have known it was even an issue. I loathe the idea of strikes, but for once, this wasn't for the sake of bullying (unlike 90+% of the strikes out there). Yet... the strike did not actually resolve this specific issue - the one with the most wide-reaching effects on a VA's career, which makes me curious about some things surrounding the strike.

How much money has Rooster Teeth saved in medical bills by having characters say "Hurk... blah" instead of actual pained death sounds?
