so... basically, Sony got trashed by Nintendo in the handheld market and doesn't want to play anymore. Gotta love the classic "nobody likes [thing] anyways!!" response. hahaha

But yeah, Sony does great work on the home console/TV experience. No need to distract from that for now.

To be fair...One of the big reason why the switch worked is the Franchises associated with it.

Without Zelda, Mario and all the other nintendo exclusive. The Switch would probably have decent sales but nothing like it have today.

I've been thinking that MS would rather have people use the Switch to play MSS-distributed games instead of maintaining a hybrid mobile console of their own. MS's "Play Anywhere" ideology, to me, means consumers also play stuff on their own devices, maintained by those manufacturers (and by DIYers for their own custom rigs).

It's also a choice between maintenance and costs. Mobile devices have a greater risk of damage, which will drive up maintenance costs. Nintendo's long experience with handling handhelds is probably better suited for servicing those kinds of things than MS. Nintendo already knows how to do it.

As for Sony, I see a "cash-cow" pattern to their activities. If they're not careful, that cow will run dry.
