7/10 is probably what I would rate it too, It is an entire league below the other zelda games of the past few years. It is a good game but it doesn't hold a candle to Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Orcarina, Skyward Sword, Link between Worlds, or hell even the oracle of season/ages games

While the reaction was over the top Jim Stirling is clearly a man who looks for attention and is very good at finding it (even if it is not the sort he would actually want to meet face-to-face).

Meh, review scores are a load of crap. Buuuuut, 7/10 , in these circumstances, does seem suspiciously out of place for a game like this. Can't help but feel like the appeal of extra attention may have influenced it. If he'd said the exact same things about it, and given it an 8/10 (which, quite frankly, his description sounded more like), it wouldn't have raised any flags. A person like him would know that. As for whether or not he ACTUALLY acted on that information for more views/attention... who knows.

It's a bit insane to get so upset over one person having a different opinion on something than everyone else. Especially since his opinion isn't even that lower or worse than the other reviewers by that much. Even from what I've seen and heard of the game, and without playing it myself, I can tell that it's a great game, but not perfect. The only reason I can remotely see for this kind of logic is that people are upset over it bringing the average down by one point, which is just insanely obsessive thinking if you're upset about something so trivial. That one negative review, and the average dropping by one point, in no way affects the content of the game, or how well people will like it or be likely to buy it. I can't think of anyone but the most stingy gamers ever thinking, "Oh, it's a 97. If it was a 98 I'd buy it." And more so, people should be allowed to have differences of opinion without receiving death threats and being digitally attacked over some so trivial as a review of a game, particularly when his opinion was one of "I enjoyed the game, but there were some parts that detracted from the over all experience." Furthermore, we do need reviewers to be willing to say what they do and don't like about a game, and score it accordingly, rather than just saying "everyone else liked it, so it's perfect"......

That nerd burn was majestic. Back to the main topic, I dont get all the complains. Pretty much every reviewer except one guy found the game to be perfect or near perfect. I honestly dont understand why one reviewers opinion matters so much. Especially if the guy says he likes it. I can see how fragile weapons can be annoying. I wouldnt mark the game down as much as this guy did for it but hey its his review. I hated the weapon breaking in witcher 3 but i still give that game a 98% and according to my friends im a damn stingy reviewer. There are moments were i cant help my self defend video game culture like a fat man protects his food but this time I really really cant.

They were talking about his on Dude Soup, also, and mirrored a lot of the same points you guys did (which means it's refreshing to see sensibility spread among the company :D), and I have to say that I'm okay with his review. I think it actually does better for a game to maybe have a few scores that are a little different. Highlight the issues that maybe didn't matter to some reviewers that would matter to me. Do I think that Sterling played it up a bit? Absolutely. It's what he does as a character looking like he stepped out of V for Vendetta. But at the end of the day, he gave it a fair and valid review and backed up his points. And clearly, even though his negative points wouldn't weigh that heavily for my opinion, they did for him, and nothing anyone can do can take away that validity. I wish him the best of luck in getting control of things back so he can keep doing what he's doing, and I like that you guys are analyzing this in a fair and even manner.

I'm at a loss for words. What's the point of reviews if people react like this to them or for that matter, the people trying to drag down the score because they think it doesn't deserve a high score. The guy raised valid points about the game.
