I find it hilarious that the Switch isn't THAT different from the Wii U, but because it's portable, suddenly everyone is okay with another shitty system..

I'm surprised that they went a whole section on remasters/remakes and they didn't talk about skyrim special addition and how it brought mods to console alongside with giving owners of the original game on pc a free copy of the special edition

FYI, all USB voltage is 5 V. You can't have a USB charger with more than that because 1. it's not allowed and 2. it would be bad for your battery, which "expects" to get 5 V. The power of the charger (in Watts) determines how fast the charge will be. Watts are the same as Volts times Amps. So if you want higher power but the voltage has to be the same (because USB is a standard), then the only thing that changes among chargers in the current (Amps). Any charger should list all this info somewhere: voltage, current, and power.

In general, you just need to look for Amps or Watts, and higher means faster. You also need to get the right kind of cable. Some kinds of USB cables, especially older ones, might not be rated for higher current.

i want an eternal darkness remaster on switch

also regarding the switch charge, it seems that 50-75% brightness is enough difference in battery drain to allow positive charge on lower output plugs (with a 5v 2400mA at least)

I still think there needs to be some visual representation of Ben when they get his input on things. I still offer the gimmick of a live cartoon (like the kind of Adobe Character Animator that mimic movements and automatic lipsyncing)... just a Glitch, Please identifiable feature.

As for the Switch, I need to believe in its longevity. Right now, I don't feel it. It feels like it's on right now but could quickly switch off.

SPEAKING ABOUT WORDS BEING ADDED TO THE DICTIONARY!!!..... I just found out recently that the word "literally" now has two meanings in the dictionary: the first definition being the one we already know, and the second definition being "in effect. virtually."   I think this is hilarious because so many of my friends use the word "literally" to mean "figuratively"... we all do it. .... example: "Oh my god, I literally was about to die from how boring the class was." haha. I guess if everyone uses a word a certain way, it's going to get added to the dictionary.

I think a great idea for a segment would be books, movies and TV you'd LIKE to see becoming a game. Personally I think an R-Rated Anita Blake Vampire Hunter would be really cool as a visual novel with attack sequences and such would be incredible and I'd shell out sixty dollars per book (and there's 25 of the damned things!).

I'd like to hear about your dream game if you could MAKE an original game.

Indie titles you love people may not know about (I reeeeally like Fantasy Life and it seems like maybe 4 people know of it).

I think it's important to bring all the classic games to every console generation, or even bring them back for PC players, but I'm still dismayed that there are more remasters coming out than great new games. I never got a chance to play The Last of Us during the short time I had a PS3, and I'm glad I got to play it when I got a PS4, but that doesn't excuse how ridiculous it was to "remaster" a game 13 months after it launched. At that point they should've just held it and released it on PS3 and PS4 simultaneously. In my opinion it should be at least after 10 years or two console generations, but even still, remasters can only do so much. There are points in Halo 2 anniversary where I don't know which graphics I'm looking at, and that game badly needed an upgrade, so I don't understand when people say we need Halo 3 anniversary. The original looks fine and a remaster couldn't really do much. Still, i wish remasters would "finish" games. Can you imagine if we got the 5+ other planned Halo 2 levels?

Now, the PC/PS4 remaster for Final Fantasy 7? That was needed. Badly. You can barely read the text in the original, which really leaves almost no point for playing it. The gameplay is outdated and all it really has going for it is the story. If you can't read what the characters are saying, why play it? The PS1 FF games are pixelated as all hell and you'd thing resolution wouldn't matter, but it's at such a low resolution they're impossible to read on a 1080 16:9 TV. The jagged edges just aren't legible. So even though I have a PS2 and could play Okami or Psychonauts, they're not even on my mind because PS1 and 2 games are such a pain to look at on a high-def TV, where on a 4:3 360p TV it was much more bearable since that's how they were made to look. I have FF12 for PS2 but won't even touch it since the remaster is so close.

So yes. I think remasters are valuable. Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Bioshock, Arkham, Assassin's Creed 2, Revelations, Brotherhood, and The Last of Us? Maybe not the most necessary choices.

I own Mario Kart on the Wii u, only because it came bundled with the my Wii U. I played it but never really enjoyed it because I wanted the Wii U to play all the Zelda games I missed out on and couldn't get on my 3DS, and some other games I wanted to play as well.

On the switch, I actually play it a lot more. I pull it out on my break at work and can play a grand Prix or two. Just this weekend I was with a friend and we were gonna see Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but we had an hour to kill in the mall before it started so I just pulled out my switch and we just played Mario Kart for a bit.

I'm in the Ryan camp regarding Nintendo, to me there just isn't enough variety in the game catalog to justify a purchase. Especially because I'm an older gamer and gaming with friends isn't really an option anymore. If my daughters were into gaming I would consider a switch, now it would be my Zelda console. And that's just not worth it.

    • DavidtheWavid FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

Yeah. Since the press conference, I haven't considered buying one until Mario Odyssey is out. Zelda's not enough, I don't have friends to play Mario Kart with, and I'm not interested in Splatoon or Arms.

    • Kurtbastianjust FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

We originally bought the Switch JUST for Zelda, to us it was justified but I feel like with Snake Pass, I have the crappy little frontier game, 1, 2, Switch (rarely played), and Snipperclips (which is good if you like puzzlers, even with just one person), it was worth the buy.

I personally am hoping for other titles though, I want to see an Animal Crossing on the platform and I'm also buying Stardew Valley (for the third time), just so I can have it to carry around and it's going to be multiplayer.

I don't think the game choices are lacking, I think the genre of choices are. I don't care about the Shovel Knight series, I MAY pick up Mario Kart and Odyssey, but I'm holding out for the third party ports and new games.

I wasn't sure at the start how well the four person cast would work, if it would be too much like other podcasts, or if the segments would get derailed, but I think it worked really well, or at lest better then I expected. I also like switching up the cast, keeps things fresh, but I would like to see past guests come back after time, once the show is in full swing.

I just want to put this out there, and I'm really looking for another grumpy old man before his time to pick this up and champion this (looking at you Gus Sorola III).

Language is not something that is supposed to 'evolve'. Adding and expanding it is fine, expected even but the basic foundation of a language is that words have finite meaning so that all users (I say users because I include sign and the like) can understand meaning without confusion. Changing he meaning of words just shows that it has be degraded of eroded.

I'm not that old so the fact that 'wicked' became synonymous with impressive really just shows that we aren't in control of this unique part of our evolution.

Writers of official Dictionaries should be chastised for crumbling under that pressure of undisciplined youth.

Now get off of me lawn!

If languages never evolved or changed we wouldn't have the English language as we know it today, nor many other languages that we use in modern society. All languages can be traced back to the root languages they evolved from. A language that can't evolve or change is doomed to die with the times.

I can't wait for the next episode, and I can't wait to see what The Know comes up with!

What a great episode: three mains, and Adam, good topics, great news rundown (loved the more on "what do you think" than "here's what happened") wasnt too very heavy in any one thing (maybe nintendo) made it super easy to watch. Even the, Switch Cheese, segment wasnt long enough to be annoying.

I wonder what Gus would think of a VR remake MGSolid, and have it playable shot/shot,  that game even then was pretty linear, I think it would be amazing, huge & Expensive to make = impossible, though...

By that logic Matt Bragg is a main too, Burnie burns and even LIL'J did the same kind of place holding, though Adam did it more often, even before Meg left, I was referring to The Mains the "at least one, if not all three, was are always on the episode of the original patch".

Great news discussion this episode. This might just be chalked up to the low tech realities of these pilot episodes, but it would be great to have a clearer idea of the items for discussion each episode. I'm just worried about this new series falling into the same issues as the Patch where news topics kind of drag or blend together.

Getting rid of the timer was definitely the right call, but displaying the topic on screen would be great to clearly define what the panel is discussing.

    Also
"Meek may just mean obsequious and not yielding".

    Right, great stuff Ryan.

Wow, that was a REALLY good podcast. Easily the best one of the four thus far.

The News segment in particular seems to have had a massive improvement. Each news topic felt like it was given an appropriate amount of conversation. Some were short, some were long, and they were naturally flowing conversations. I've been noting this segment's need for change from the get-go and am so glad to see it progress into what I saw in this episode. Really great job on this one.

Every other segment/discussion on the podcast was fine. Honestly, they just kinda blur in my mind as just a long conversation of topics leading to new topics. But I mean that in a good way, because a naturally flowing conversation is what I like best in podcasts.

My only complaints at this point are:

-The name of the show (no, I don't mean go back to "The Patch". I mean come up with something better than "Glitch Please". I realize this is just subjective, but I just really don't like the name)

-The jarring audio used for the segment transitions. It's unpleasant on the ears. Please consider changing it.

I definitely like the format of this episode better than the other three. The discussion was great, opinions were thrown around which is what i like to hear. I love the fact ryan is basically the guy who doesnt know anything about Nintendo So they explain all the stuff to him Cuz im pretty much that guy. So the nintendo discussion definitely piqued my interest. Overall great cast this episode i like the four man format better than the three man for sure. Three is good but it feels like the conversation is lacking an extra voice whereas five people would seem like just too many people for a good discussion in 1hour to 1.5 hour show.

For slower news weeks i can see last weeks format being used with the whole come up with the cast for a movie. OR something i think would be interesting is : Canceled games or series you wish would make a come back.  For example. For me the series  i would like to see make a comeback is command and conquer but the cancelled game that hurt me the most was Tiberium which also coincidentally is part of the CoC universe.  It looked like it had a lot of potential.
Or also for later in the year maybe around august when the industry is usually in that Lull stage where E3 finished 2 months ago and the hype finally died down a bit but the games are all going to release soon it would be interesting to see a retrospective episode where yall discuss who do you think is winning the year so far and why and who do you think will win the fall/Christmas time and why.

I think Nintendo was cautious in the beginning, due to the Wii U sales here in the US. They weren't prepared at all for the demand. I think by August or September even Walmart will have some in stock *fingers crossed*. Well, for other people. I was first in line for our preorder, I'm a lucky girl here.

I think when there is 4 people, the show is at it's best. When there are 3 people, they are still good, but they definitely seem to step up a notch when the 4th floater comes in then goes back to the quality with 3 people.

Definitely keep when some discussions might go a little long or maybe a little astray because then getting to go deeper into a topic. Strangely, I don't feel like this show should worry about time. So maybe if this goes into a live broadcast make it the last one and give it a max of 2 hrs, knowing that it probably won't hit that point. I know that might not be great for you guys, but you could always fill in time with doing live let plays? idk

When it comes to the whole Fury issue i dont get the uproar about fury being a woman. When the art for the 4 horsemen first came out for darksiders 1 fury was clearly a woman in the art. The only issue with fury i do kinda understand is her face. It looks odd. Not ME Andromeda levels of odd but still odd. But then again it is just a  CGI trailer that her face looks odd in and not the actual game. Im hoping her face animations look better in the game. Also i 100% intend to get the game bad face animations or not. I got ME Andromeda and after that face disaster of a game other face animations are definitely bearable.

Ryan: Nintendo isn't in the business of making games.

    Bullshit

Switch, WiiU, 3DS-era: 1-2 Switch, Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8D, Splatoon, Pikmin 3, Animal Crossing digital board game shit, Super Mario Maker, Triforce Heroes, Star Fox Zero, Miitopia, Star Fox Guard, Tank Troopers, Kirby and the Rainbow Cruise, WarioWares, Tomodachi Collector, Nikki's Travel Quiz, Rhythm Heaven Megamix

Coming Soon: Mario Odyssey, Arms, Splatoon 2

    Sources:

Not all of them are great. Not all of them are solely or mainly developed by Nintendo, but compare it to Rockstar North who has put out one game in that same time frame, great game with a lot of post-launch content, but still one single game while Nintendo has three first-party games coming this year. Or compare it to other publishers and Nintendo is doing the same thing as Activision or Ubisoft except Nintendo isn't annualizing their releases making an audience fatigued with any one franchise. Nintendo isn't the first company to re-release an updated port of a game that maybe didn't have a fair shake last gen or that is upgraded in some way.

What have they done that is so different to anyone else in the industry, developers or publishers, that leads Ryan to talking this much shit?

If he doesn't like them, he doesn't have to, but he sometimes puts blinders on to further antagonize Nintendo.

This weeks episode was the best one yet, I like it so much more without the forced feeling segments like last week.

I still don't like the name and really want to hear something from you guys regarding the name being the most common point of feedback. Gus' comment at the start "are we gonna do a glitch news run, jump out of the level" is exactly the problem I have with the name. It does not make any sense with the subject matter of the show and is super misleading, I've told friends that are not first members that a gaming podcast is on its way back, I told them the name and all of them asked me if it was only about glitches or speedruns in games, it's a conversation that shouldn't need to happen just based on a name.

I did watch it, she says why they didn't use the same name again, she has given no response to the community feedback saying that a large amount of us are unhappy with the current name and have been since the first episode. You know, talking about the bully sequel makes me want to build a game. An game where you're in a huge super school (covering Kindergarten through college) and you do GTA things. The big draw is that the classes actually teach you real things and you are tested at certain points. What's the capital of New York, how do you find the missing side of a triangle, and things like that. The draw to the game would be if you're an idiot you won't get as far as someone who actually knows things.

This feels a little bit like Apple trying to sell us The Patch 2S but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Everything feels smoother and the pace flowed better this episode. I don't recall The Patch asking so many pointed questions of its cast, and I liked that this episode, it gives the show a point, rather than a few people rambling and Ryan cursing Nintendo.

The name is awful. It comes out so forced and unnatural, and kills a lot of the good vibe you've been building up.

I definitely like the idea of using last week's pilot's segments as fall backs for slow news weeks. They were entertaining in their own right, but I definitely prefer the news/issues, so using those as back up segments is something I totally support.

The rest of this episode was great too. A lot of good discussion about different topics and games. The transitions were, I thought, all done well and weren't awkward or forced. There wasn't a section that I felt was rushed at all. Just an overall great episode.

I'm enjoying the podcast! Could you make a link or something to the accessories that you talked about for the switch like a journal post or a link dump?
