I wasn't allowed to play video games growing up so I missed out on EVERYTHING. But it's weird when people older than me like Miles talk about memories playing Halo 2 in high school or old Sonic games in grade school. I played Halo 2 on PC in high school and Sonic the summer after 8th grade on my iPod. It feels like I grew up further back than I actually did.

I actually played the Pokemon Trading Card Game as a kid. I had dumped a bunch of money into the booster packs at the time and found 2 awesome combos that effectively made them mill decks. I played them against each other and it was a coin toss as to which deck would win. Given the rules of the game, sometimes one side would have an advantage right out of the gate, but it would ultimately boil down to which side got the power card out first. Weakness wasn't a huge factor because at the time, there was a card called Ancient Arena (or something with Ancient in the title) and it ignored weakness for all Pokemon. The strategy for each deck was to draw cards as often and as quick as possible. The most cards I've drawn in one turn was 7 and each deck could draw about 4 per turn. It was possible to deck myself within 15 turns, which is about where most decks would hit their stride. But by that time every Pokemon was set up and all my energy cards were already played. Normally, you have 25-30 energy cards, both of these decks played on less than 20, which is a really bad idea if you don't know what you're doing. One deck would do 100 damage to any Pokemon I choose on the opponent's side of the field, and the other would do 90+ damage to the active Pokemon. Shortly after developing both of those, I stopped playing and quit going to that weekly meet up. People weren't too keen to face me after I made them. I haven't played in a while, but I'm sure my decks could put up a fight. Looking at a handful of cards on display, they're just as powerful, if not more so and easier to get so my strategy could backfire. I would hazard a guess and say that my general strategy is why they upped the stakes and made HP so insanely high now (I live in a backwater area of Cali and I never made a name for myself, but I wasn't the only person to develop this strategy).

Having Ryan commentate over a Yugioh game would be amazing. It makes me want another video like the Magic the Gathering thing AH did a while ago, but with Yugioh. Intense trading card games would be amazing
