Why can TV and Movies do real life issues but Games can't? That seems like a double standard.

So this is more of a random, general question about Glitch Please. Why is the RT site and YouTube versions of each episode named differently?

I keep wondering if I've missed an episode, but then see the same thumbnail.

I wish everyone (Adam especially) wasn't cut off by Ashley all the time, I enjoy what she has to say but she cuts him off so often..

I always felt that we shouldn't shy away from domestic violence and rape in media but yet there's this extreme reaction towards it that makes people hate the thing for having it regardless if they are being shown as a bad thing. It's really off putting that people would prefer people getting murdered in horrible ways than seeing domestic violence or rape.

Sorry for the rant but the complaints and attempted censorship of Detroit become human are ridiculous and I absolutely agree with what you guys were saying.

For one, it isn't glorifying or encouraging violence towards children because you as the player are not hurting the child and it isn't making light of it because it is depicted as a horrific and disturbing event and you as the android can choose what to do. The different scenarios  shown in the trailer would suggest there are a few different ways of helping the child and I think when given a moral choice most people will try and save her.

Secondly, there are many video games that have depicted domestic abuse, child abuse and children getting hurt in the past that haven't got flagged by critics etc. hell Wolfenstein 2 is still pretty new and has some very clear depictions of domestic abuse right at the start of the game and no one's talking about that.

Thirdly, this is not a children's game, it will be age gated and children shouldn't be playing it unless their parents have allowed them to in which case that is their responsibility. It won't be encouraging children to resort to violence if they're faced with abuse like some people are saying.

Lastly, awful things like abuse of children and domestic violence are depicted in films and TV all the time but because they are viewed as art and videos still aren't seen that way by a lot of people they get a pass. I think Boogie2988 made a very good video about this, talking about how it shines a light on the issue and is actually a positive thing that makes more people aware of child abuse and maybe look out for signs of a child that needs help. Having suffered from it himself, he has a very good perspective on it and I would recommend watching his video.

I personally really want to play the game because I really enjoyed Heavy Rain. That trailer got an emotional reaction out of me, just like one of their previous trailers with the female android being made and I think I could get really invested in the story.

I've watched about 20 hours of people playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and I am 100% not impressed. Game looks like it runs horribly, combat literally puts me to sleep ( or it would if I didn't have to listen to 30 different voices shouting the same lines over each other, and the story doesn't do enough to make up for it. I didn't buy into the charm and as a result everything feels awkward and cringy.

Actual line of dialogue: "Make a girl cry, that's not gonna fly. Make a girl smile, you pass the trial!"

Is the game actually serious? It feels like a massive joke.

I'm absolutely loving Xenoblade Chronicles 2! Your discussion makes me glad that I've been playing with Japanese voices. Got to say, this might be my 2nd favorite game of the year right after Nier Automata and I have no major complaints yet (40 hours in). Loving that each of the rare blades has their own story and contribution to the plot.

P.S. In combat, you can hold R for targeting and press A and Y to switch targets. You can then press left on the D-Pad to get all of your party members to focus the same target you are.

How awesome would Detective Pikachu be if it was a gritty noir story? I know it won't be but damn that would be awesome.

On Xenoblade, there's a reason I don't generally play JRPGs. Honestly, to me, a lot of them feel and play like they only care about story and graphics, with gameplay being an "Eh, there were shitty PS1 games that had tighter controls, but who cares?"

playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 now, I more or less agree with y'all on it. It really is great, but it's there's a few minor annoyances in its design choices.

If you like the concepts and motivations that went into this game's design and the original Xenoblade Chronicles ever gets an HD re-release (or if you can still stand Wii graphics on your modern screens), I highly recommend playing that.

It does a number of things y'all had concerns about better than 2. Like combat (can auto-attack while moving, arts are ready from battle start, weapons aren't extra body distractions on the battle field, etc...), better menu navigation, better map integration, faster startup, your armor changes with your equipment (among like a dozen or so models at least), and there's no baloon-chest characters (I mean, there's characters that show some cleavage, but not on the order of Pyra). And it's still got beatiful music, good characters, and a vast, facinating world to explore (which was pretty absurd for a Wii game)
