Picked up Recettear because Ashley mentioned it, and because it was only $4 on a weekend sale.  Pretty fun little game, and I think she will enjoy it too.  Nice little relaxing game, and Recette herself is adorable.

Also, can't stop seeing the thumbnail as "Chorizo Zero Dawn"

The awards should be called the Glitchers for the bad games and the Pleasers for the good games :-D.

Adam, I too am a sweat monster who uses googles for work. To prevent fogging use regular dish soap (or a detergent) on a paper towel (no water) and rub over the parts that fog up. Wait for two minutes and take a dry paper towel and clean off the soap. The way soap molecules are structured create a hydrophobic layer that will prevent fogging. Remember not to add any water.

Great year for glitch please.  watched all the episodes.  Horizon Zero Dawn is my game of the year for the same reasons that ryan and gus mentioned.  The story really caught me.  Looking forward to RD2 and Farcry 5.  Resolution is to go to my job more and make more money to buy games.

I agree with (most) of your GOTY selections (haven't had the chance to play Persona 5) but I want to give a shout out to the story campaign of Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Had a great time playing that game, loved the world and the story.

Fortnite put me in the same position, It was my first win and i spent my whole time in the top 15 hiding in a crack right in loot lake on the sides of the house and i was telling myself the whole time i didn't deserve this. There was two time when i swapped sides in the little valley so when a person ran by they werent able to see me.

Resolutions are made to be broken, haha. But seriously, I have a similar problem as Adam. I buy so many things and never play them. I think I should try to play more as well. Since I'm about to get into streaming whatever I can (I've had it set up for probably 3 years now, I could've been a contender), I think I'll just throw on a game that I don't particularly care about and stream it as I ramble or sit in a party and bullshit with my friends. That way I can get tons of games played without feeling like it's a chore. Although maybe I should make my resolution to stream more. Maybe I'll combine them ad do both.

The Evil Within 2 was my game of the year. I grew to love/hate the first game when I took the time to 100% it (including Akumu mode). E3 was pleasantly surprising when Bethesda announced a sequel that I did not expect at all. Ever. And then it was released 4 months later. Although skeptical of the new "open-world" approach I fell in love with it immediately as I got to see the new story unfold in front of me. All the hours of frustration really helped me understand and appreciate what the world had to offer in its bit of lore and I took that with me to the next title. The new year hasn't come yet, but I know Monster Hunter World will be my GOTY 2018. It is finally time for its return to a console after its PS2 debut!

Ashley, I use this AC Adaptor to charge my PS3/PS4 Controllers.

Horizon is my GotY. Followed by Gravity Rush 2.

The game I “regret” not finishing the most is Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. I never finished the game because I got this impression that the game was over. I fought what felt like an ending boss. Had what felt like an ending cutscene. And was kicked back to the hub world with a bunch of, what I thought were, side missions.

The reason I kind of don’t regret it is because, as a Metal Gear Fan, I have to say, that was the stupidest moment in Metal Gear history. Metal Gear has always been silly. That was stupid.

I finished Mass Effect Andromeda. Am I mad? Am I the only person who actually enjoyed playing it?

Yeah the graphics were nothing to write home about but the gameplay was fun and I enjoyed playing as Sarah....

I really loved Mass Effect Andromeda.  It's hard to talk about it when everyone's so ready to treat it like a joke - like, what's the point, you know?  But I really enjoyed it.  I liked the combat, I liked the choices and how it really felt like you could fuck things up while trying to make them better, I liked the exploration, I loved the companions, I liked the big hard sci-fi themes like first contact, genetic modification, the question of how much you can trust AI, the 'fuck, we're all going to die' approach to colonising space.  And overall I just found it really - optimistic?  Which I think is something you don't see enough of in action games or sci-fi these days.  But I really enjoyed Andromeda, despite the janky graphics - although I was lucky enough not to run into any game-breaking bugs, I guess.  It sucks because I really wasn't looking forward to Andromeda - I just felt like the Mass Effect story was Shepherd's story, and it finished with the trilogy, and this new one was just a cash-in on the IP.  Then I remembered how much I loved the companions and the bonding in the original games, and got more excited.  Then I played it, and loved it, and everyone else hated it and it all got cancelled.  I will never find out how making the Krogan our ambassador in the galaxy will turn out, or what the batarians leaving the Milky Way/the Hegemony were like.  Damn you, gaming community.  Why can't you just agree with me all the time??  Although it's not really a good look for EA either, giving up on it entirely like they did.  But it is one of the things I'm saddest about in 2017.

I enjoyed it to a certain extent. The gameplay was fun and exploration was a lot better than previous versions. My complaints all come down to the poor story telling and lack of lovable characters. Honestly I couldn't even name the squadmates in andromeda, they're just not as memorable as Garrus, Liara, Wrex or Tali. The character development and story telling in andromeda was just really bad and that was the main reason that I loved the original trilogy. I guess I just compared it too much to the original trilogy and that's why it was so disappointing for me.

Really? I liked PB a lot! I liked Ryder, I thought she was upbeat and fun where Shepard was dour and serious.

Nioh was easily my GOTY. Team Ninja did such a good job improving the formula FROM Software popularized with the Souls series. The combat was far deeper and more rewarding than I could have hoped for.

Horizon Zero Dawn was easily my game of the year (that being said I don't own a Switch so didn't play BotW or any other Nintendo exclusives). Such a great story, fantastic pacing, fun gameplay. All around a great game and would definitely recommend it to anyone with a PS4.

Shovel Knight: Spectre of Torment for me. Even though it's a DLC gods that expansion was fantastic, and free to everyone who owned a copy of Shovel Knight prior to release

Horizon was absolutely my GOTY, but I also didn't touch Persona or Nier (I will next paycheck). Though they don't come close in quality, I had a blast with Andromeda and ReCore (didn't play it last year).
