It's true, I do find it very hard to care about "cheaters" in a single player game. The devs/publishers are literally the only people who have incentive to care, and I'm sure they won't hesitate to punish everyone if necessary to "fix" this.

Very cool about loot boxes being made useless in single-player - I've no idea what they were thinking with that anyway... idiots - it's not like they have a leg to stand on if they try to take cheats to court since so far they have only the damage the atmosphere and reputation of the game to lean on which only really works in multiplayer.

M$ will definitely be singing a different tune if the Xbox regains first position in the fight between them and Sony! (Not really a console war given Nintendo is winning that one c.f. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_game_consoles - unless you discount handhelds... and currently available but not current gen consoles... any more asterisks you want? ;)

Looks like Bioware is going to be remade somewhere else with all it's devs leaving for pastures new - possibly together, possibly in a new company - would be the first time by any stretch - Bullfrog and Lionhead were both those never mind the rest...

Mike and Marc Laidlaw are both on their own now - no relation but people liked to get the two mixed up. (Mike = Dragon Age. Marc = Half-Life.) Mike's a great guy with a lot of bdad jokes.

There was a lot that he couldn't talk about regarding work, and it obviously bugged him that he had to stay quiet on things he found exciting - and a little frustrated from the nagging and deflecting rumors about projects. While he likely still can't talk what they were doing at BW, it's probably a big weight off of his shoulders now. He can focus on enjoying games. Catch him on his twitch. (Invite him to RT for some fun.)

XBox is pushing for the cross-play. I don't know how that figures into things, but I get the feeling that they're considering that in their numbers for the bigger picture - whatever that picture may be.

After the blatant ripoff of Team Fortress 2 in China and seeing more and more ripoffs since, I find the Overwatch ripoff to be business as usual over there - not that it's okay but totally expected.

Twitter requires people to identify themselves as parody accounts or they can be closed as impersonation - a no-no on Twitter. It's been ages since I've done any real Facebooking. I would be surprised if they didn't have such a similar policy. Going in with guns blazing sounds over-the-top instead of using Facebook's features to have the page closed. I wonder if there was more to it than simply spoofing the department - like having inside information somehow, things that could seriously jeopardize the department or its offices? Otherwise, yes. The department needs to be sued for an abuse of power.

ME:SoW stays off of my list due to many things, but their lootbox didn't help their case with me. Requiring cheats to get around it is just more dirt on that grave for me.
