"WARNING!!!! this post by a total nerd!!!" I think the bump is for compution, in older halo games the maps were smaller and the environment had less interaction (plants, lighting, and other physical properties" in H3 they make all of those more realistic, but that means the game would be slower, so what they do is make the object a static (non-motion) until another physical object comes in range at which time it becomes physical. This makes it so the CPU doesn't have to worry about objects unless it needs to so that game is faster.

    Yeah... I know I'm such a nerd...

    Woo! My first post ever!

yeah part-screen mask and overlay is a good way to work around video errors, I use that a lot to fix stuff in my videos.

i think the bump could be used to help the story. When Wash and Church first meet the META, he has energy problems. Maybe he still has them? Maybe he randomly sets off electric pulses that cause the bump? What if the Reds and Blues have to follow these bumps to find META and Washington who stole the Epsilon and are attempting to return to the Director? Yay or Neigh?

if i may be of assistance, i builive "the bump" is a flaw in the guardian code. whenever you get out of a map, what kills you or shoots you? guardian. what if you do the trip mine glitch and then try the bump? iam thinking this is what the bump is

Why not place a weapon holder on the top of objects to lock them in place?

Random Grif death. Sarge must be proud of Church and yet pissed that he didn't do it himself

if your not showing the top of the object, i think a wepon holder keeps it steady.

but they look fugly if you dont crop it out.

your ways are waaay cleverer though, i dont think anyone but you noticed the shadow before you said it.

  • NioShobu

You guys do a good job of avoiding it, because I never notice. I never notice that in the actual game.

If you put an upside down teleporter receiver node on top of the object, it might stay still, that's how we reinforce barricades so zombies can't knock them down. It'll work for bigger objects, such as the crate, but it may be more noticeable with smaller things.

thx Burnie because we average human beings who have jobs and stuff dont have to stay up half the night anymore wondering "What is the Bump?""I need to know."I have gotten like 3 more hours of sleep now that that very urgent matter has been attended to.anyway great vid and Caboose must have been "helping Griff out " with that little shot to the head.

Thats just a weird addition to the game they have, I wonder if they have anything eles like that.

  • killerZred

    game: Team Slayer
scene: Two soldiers run towards each other, guns blazing. Crate bumps. Soldiers stop to look at the crate. Exchange looks. Continue watchin the box. Another team mate comes. Sees them observing the box. Stops to watch it too. Before long, entire teams are watching the box. IT bumps. Everyone screams in excitement. The following day there is a forum post re-telling the exact story on a Rooster Teeth vid comment section.

  • crazyboy008

Huh. I never knew that the bump was there. That will be very useful if I ever get around to making a machinima. Actually, now that I think about it, if you go and watch some of DigitalPh33r's machinimas, you can see the bump. He's nowhere as good as you guys! Rooster Teeth RULES!

I gotta say, I thought Burnie would have a deeper voice...I knew everyone did voices for the characters but I would've thought maybe like...Sarge...or....Lopez....

  • Toastkun

I usually use the second way of taking care of the bump.

  • YouWasPwned

How could Bungie have missed such an annoying thing? Although it can be useful in multiplayer to warn you someone is there, really helpful if you're playing without the sensor. But it is no good in Machinimas. So Bungie, if you can hear me, FIX IT!!!

  • ICEHAWK92

I never really noticed it.... but now i know how to get around it, Thanks!

lol shouldn't they have tried using the monitor modes? Holding a box inplace way off screen seems easier to me.
