Has anyone tried the Amazon refund thing since seeing this? I tried today and they only referred to the class action but didn't bite on the 20% refund.

Only in the US, that sucks. I know I have one running but I'm not in the US.

I remember you guys did a story about the 3.5GB, 4GB VRAM in the 970.

I thought that is was known that aftermarket cards had a base overclock done to them. I mean all the reviews I've watched for years now have known about this and say it in their video review each time.

It's a sad state where lies are considered the buisness standard even when it comes to hardware. While objectively you can't deny the financial benifits of being the better option, the result is in the buyers losing the value and the benifit they wanted from that product. In turn it also sullies the name of a lot of suppliers. While I have a MSI card at the moment, I will really consider it when I buy another one from them or any who also participate in this kind of scamming.

That being said, Nvidia them selves best beware their actions with this kind of thing. While they have maintained the higher end market atm. This kind of thing may result in people being a lot more selective in their purchases and check the validity of things they premote as well. It only takes a measure of distrust and Nvidia can quickly lose their market share to Radeon.

Also in the UK, I've bought 5 970's for me and friends, some through Amazon some from ScanComputers. Gonna have to look into this.

I have one, but I did research before buying a card like people should do. It wasn't hard to find this out at all. It was actually too easy as many tech reviews stated this issue. My 970 is currently functioning at 1/2 capacity do to a power surge. I personally wont refund because I feel like I knew of the issue and wasn't done any wrong.

I now regrettably bought an EVGA - Fallout 4 Edition NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB this past January! So i'll definitely cash in on that $30 back. However, i wish it was a bit more because at the time and after taxes it was $402.79. I also wish i waited but i wanted to be ready for the Division.... which i don't play much any more...Wooo for Overwatch!

Put a 970 in the PC I built for my brother, definitely claiming the money for him. Thirty dollars isn't going to make much of a dent in that Steam wishlist though..
