Software Patent Trolls FINISHED?

Tech and Science News: Software Patent Trolls FINISHED?

(Let me begin with: Mica YAY! [insert MicaYAY emoticon])

These patent/copyright trolls target specific courts who they know are either ignorant of the technology or are simply pro-patent/pro-copyright indiscriminately. There needs to be the highest court ruling on this to stop the madness.

Vague patents/copyrights need to be obliterated. Vague or specific patents/copyrights of things that are already in widespread use (-- a vague criteria, but whatevs) need to be denied.

No more "We patent/copyright this commonly used word." (Attempting to copyright the word "Saga"? Really?) No more "We patent/copyright this technology that has been used for decades by everyone." (Attempting to patent the transistor in any implementation? Really? The thing that makes the core component of every digital device today?)

I agree with the appeals court judge that software code should be a copyright instead of a patent. A basic blueprint of an actual object is vastly different from software as a code can do many of the same general things, but can be written so many different ways one's head would spin

That was really neat information.  I am glad that it was ruled that way.
