I prefer PC, because I get cheaper games, better graphics, modding, and a wealth of indie games. I can also use my PC for everything I need it to do.

Okay, I've just looked it up, and I take back what I've said. Apparently there will be new Pravetz laptops. As for the Pravetz OS -- it will be Linux-based. I don't have high expectations of it, though.

  • tomatofield

I read an article that explained how the website that announced that Pravets would begin the production of laptops is actually a hoax. So I wouldn't get too excited about that.

Generally more of a console guy more because of the actual games and general stability. As much as PC can do versatility wise with mods and being continually upgrade-able, it requires certain level of investment to get a system that runs certain games at a playable level. When most people just like to put the game in, power on, and go. That said, lately I spend more time gaming on my pc because steam.
Hearing the issues with UI and lack of software content is confirming my decision to not get into the next Gen consoles just yet.

I am and always will be a console gamer. how ever. i have a ton of respect for pc gaming. less respect for lol players or like wow or purely internet games. I love console because it's more social. you never would have people over to sit infront of a computer monitor. i like the feeling of gaming in the living room not the basement. also almost no one uses voice chat for pc gaming, thats like half of why i play xbox is because of talking to my friends in party chat. plus it's much cheaper and works. yes steam sales blah balh blah but 800 dollar computer to put you on the same level as many pc gamers is much more expensive. lastly it's much easier just to pick up and play which i really enjoy. there. my two cents. no hate just my thoughts.

I think the biggest problem console gamers have is understanding the real cost of a gaming PC. I have a gaming PC that cost less than a PS4, that has better specs than the xbox1, it could be better than the ps4 for about another $100... oh and I built this thing and have been using it for the last 4 years. so to build the same machine now would be a lot less.

I actually stopped playing 360 because no one was using party chat, so maybe it just comes down to the game? I talk to my friends list on either, but talking to other party members has been futile on 360 for the last 2 years (again this is only based on my experience).

I've got no beef with either side, but I certainly can't see paying for a new console to play games my 4 year old PC runs better? A lot of it comes down to where you are in your gaming career i guess.

At the moment I would say I'm more console based lately, but if I had the money I would go to PC, PC gaming offers more customisation and a more personalised feel. Where as console gaming is very linnear, its great but limited by its lifespan. Whereas a PC can be upgraded and upgraded without losing your own personal touch to it.

Definitely prefer the PC, personally - though I do try to buy every console for exclusives, etc.

I just like the fact it's so easy to fix, easy to maintain, actually not that expensive, games are cheaper and I can use it for just about everything. It might be because I've had a laptop since I was three - and a PC all my life, but then again, I had a PS1 at that time too...

personally, it doesn't matter to me. granted that some PC users will say that they can mod a game to their hearts content and don't have to pay Microsoft or Sony to play online multi-player or on PC you have to learn to play on a keyboard and need to update PC parts to play at good capacity, both sides leave themselves isolated from other gamers that don't play the same platform with you.

I hate these things as you all probably do too, and damn sure don't wanna see them in our RT community, of all places, anymore than we have to. smiley1.gif
Now back to my original intended comment; Ashely; try NFS Rivals. You can drive through a lot of fences (and need to, at times) and there's repair shops everywhere...although ironically, gas stations serve as the repair shops and the places that look like repair shops usually don't do anything, go figure... smiley4.gif

I used to do a lot of gaming on my PC, but I found that it was counter productive to my work, as I also use my PC for work. So I turned my PC into a workstation and moved to consoles for gaming.

It just helps me keep my "work" area in my room on my PC, and my "play" area in my Living room. Which is kinda silly seeing as its only 10 feet to the Living Room, but just having the entertainment in another room is enough to keep me focused on work.

Which is better? Better what? Better at producing good graphic? PC. Better at being stable? Console. Better for pirating games? PC. Better for exclusives? Console. Better for longevity of game life? PC. Better for longevity of system (without buying additional hardware)? Console.

It really depends on your situation. As a college student, I have to ask which is the better investment?
Xbox One is $500 + $60/game. With 10 games over 5 years you pay $1100. And you know every game you buy will run.
A decent PC will cost you $600 to build. This will run every game out now. You can pirate single player games (if you are a criminal like that) so only pay for games that you want multiplayer for, say 5 games total for $300 in 5 years. That is $900. If you take this route you may save money (by stealing) but after 5 years? You will probably need a new processor, maybe hard drive or more ram. That can easily cost $300 so now you are at $1200 just to keep playing newer games (some newer games may still work on lower settings but isn't the PC master race all about their performance?) whereas an Xbox will still run every game that is put out for it.

PC is for people with money to burn, or that are willing to steal games/wait until they are on sale, or have another legitimate reason for owning a computer that powerful or don't care about cutting edge titles and will be happy playing minecraft on an atom laptop.

Consoles are for people that want a value/want compatibility guaranteed/don't want to troubleshoot their device/ want to sell their games/etc

I love PCs and if I had to choose between winning a free maxed PC gaming rig and a Xbox One, I would choose the PC. But if I had to purchase only one, I would choose console.

  • GeneralXTL

Ive been a PC gamer since DOS. Ive owned an N64, X360 and now a PS4. Though 99% of my gaming is still on PC.
The whole debate about consoles VS PCs confuses me because in reality they are all PCs. One is customizable the rest are set peices with hardware restrictions. But with those restrictions comes ease of use. I like consoles for their plug and play along with co-op (The reason why i buy consoles is so when a friend is over we have something to do) PC you have modding and overall better performance and graphics and well everything. IF you have the money for it. Which most people with a decent job do so PC! But if you're not into building your own then id so go for console....PC all the way.

As a guy who grew up playing Warcraft 3, Doom series, Unreal Tournament, Half life, Command and Conquer, and Starcraft, I have to say im mostly a PC gamer. I do have a 360 and will get a one but if i could get all the Xbox games on PC i would never get a Console. Only reason I started to consider a 360 was when Halo 3 didn't port to PC. I wish Xbox One would allow mouse and Keyboard. It be so much better for me. I dislike playing Halo 4 with a controller.

I'm mainly a console player, as I was brought up on the PS One and N64, but I do like to dabble in PC games. Both have pros and cons, but it really comes down to preference.

Bout that Skyrim mod...I'm beginning to develop my own, but can always use more practice. If you could graciously share the devious plan, I would be more than willing to try to implement.

Considering the Website has the Vault-Tec Logo...

Vault-Tec didn't get set up in Europe, as the USA had the vast majority, with Canada having a few built.

It'd be interesting seeing the Commonwealth, the area uses Androids/Robots as slave labour. (Set in Massachusetts/Boston) Especially after Fallout 3 had the water cleaned and New Vegas probably has the NCR pushing East (since most of the games before 3 had the NCR winning whatever conflict they were involved in, despite player choices).

    • TheMainMetho

I believe so. 122 vaults were publicly known, but the majority of Vaults were experimental, with the numbering spread throughout. Example: Vault 69 contained only 1 male, 999 were female. Vault 68 was 1 female, rest male. According to the Fallout wiki, only 17 vaults were "normal".

I noticed that the patch staff wasn't caught up on fallout lore, aren't most of the vaults experiments? with "unmodified" Vaults being the minority? (from someone who has all the fallout games but BoS

    • TheMainMetho

Even in New Vegas, if the player helped Caesar's Legion, doesn't the NCR just fall back after being defeated at Hoover Dam? Is the conflict as a whole ever concluded?

While I would say PC is the best but then again it was made to be. It seems people forget that Consoles where never made to be the best it was a way of having an arcade on the go. Like if you where going to a friends house you would take your console and play it there.

As someone who has always been a console gamer, I'be been thinking of updating my 6 year old laptop so I could play some of the Steam games I've collected over time(humble bundle and steam sales has my collection close to 90 games). How much would it cost to go from nothing to a quality PC? This is what's stopping me from getting into it because I want it to be nice and last a while, but i'm afraid of the price tag.

    • ExpAwesome Exponentially Awesome

Don't listen to them. If you know what you are looking for and spend time looking for deals. (I recommend using PCpartpicker.com or wait for blackfriday again and buy from Newegg) You can build a PC, that can play everything out today for only $600.

If you have steam game from sales which are probably older, you don't need a maxed out PC. You can build one for $300 that can play anything that was on recent steam sales.

    • extreme91886 moose

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks @Tanukivilla. I think I'll have to stick to consoles for now and save up for a PC I actually want. #ConsolesFTW

If you're building it, then probably about $1000. A video card is like $300-500, same for CPU, motherboard is about $100, memory is about $100-200, sound card is about $50-100, same for a fan, a power supply is about $150-250, a wireless card is about $50, a case is about $50-200, and a hard drive is about $100-200.

Remember, that doesn't include mouse, keyboard, or monitor. And that is also for a mid level system that'll last a few years. A higher end system will cost about $500-1000 more.

    • extreme91886 moose

@tanukivilla Probably building it. I hear it's much easier than it used to be and doing that can save a lot of money. Plus I work with a few people that could probably help me put it together if I do start to build one.
