Can't believe no one noticed Ryan's unintentional pun when talking about Battlefield Hardline

"It's a hard line for them to walk"

    Edit: Welp, spoke too soon

Expiration Date is the story behind the lastest TF2 update, explaining the easter egg of being able to create bread with your teleporters.

It's not really made to promote SFM more, since they do the Saxxy Awards for it, a Valve Oscars for Community made SFM videos.

Fake Steam Machines should be flat-out ignored by everyone. SteamOS is what you're looking for. Until SteamOS is released by Valve and is free to download from right here: store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamOS/ then it doesn't exist yet.

Sorry man... It's free, I don't know what else to tell you. As someone who doesn't have very much of a budget at all for games, I've pretty much relied entirely on Steam as a gaming platform for the past 4 years... Every company including Amazon is trying to break into the living room gaming/streaming market, but Valve is offering something that builds from the ground up for as little or as much as you can afford, starting with a free operating system. Yes, at first you're going to see consumer licensed manufacturing offerings from shit shows like Alienware, but once the OS is freely available to the Steam community, licensing companies will have to compete with people going to newegg.com and building steam machines for a fraction of the price and with way better specs. That being said, there's still no way in hell I'd ever play TF2 on a controller... it just doesn't work.

Ah, internet rule #16: When your argument completely falls apart, pull the "shut the fuck up" card.

Working right out of the box and coming on various motherboards and compatible with relevant 3rd party drivers is exactly why development is taking so long. You can't rush a good operating system. Everything else you said is just assuming it's going to be bad when it hasn't even been released yet. Also it's free so shut the fuck up.

Building a PC using spare parts with Windows can be enough of a pain in the ass as it is, Linux it is indeed far worse (especially when it comes to many standard video cards!). You honestly think SteamOS is going to be installed and it will come with every driver available for every known piece of hardware, and that with any given configuration, it will work right out of the box without having to go through Terminal?

Maybe for a fringe group of users, Steam Machines and Steam OS is enticing. To everyone else who doesn't want to run another computer just to stream things from a better computer in their home, this is lame. It is like having a cheap POS car that is only useful for driving yourself to your better car. Besides that, for years now, there have been tons of ways you can build yourself an entertainment system in your house using less parts, less physical space, and certainly less power than a computer utilizes. Valve is trying to reinvent the wheel, when they should be focusing on the many great games that they have and what made us fall in love with them.

There is no waste of money. SteamOS is touted to be free once it's released. Basically you can build an entertainment center out of spare PC parts and you circumvent paying microsoft $100 for an operating system you don't need and you don't have to spend an hour downloading shit in command line just to get whatever flavor of linux configured correctly.

Shady companies taking advantage of the latest buzzwords or technology suck, for sure. But, I never got SteamOS. For it to be truly standalone, a person is purchasing a brand new computer to play a limited selection of Steam's library. For it to be fully functional, a person is buying another computer just to stream games to their TV. Easier options include getting a larger monitor if you want the "big screen" experience, running an HDMI cable to your TV (if it is within reach), using Chromecast to stream the video and using a wireless controller, or using a thin client or an old cheap laptop to stream the video/audio/controller commands.

I applaud the effort of Steam trying to break into the console world, but this is just a blatant waste of money, and something Steam should have kept internal without licensing out to other companies. This whole "good, better, best" hardware option across so many manufacturers that Steam is pushing for is going to lead to lot of customer confusion and gamers being upset when they receive the low-end units as gifts.

Just saying, but if you pause at the right time when the link for the huluplus sponsorship comes up, it writes as /sexhp. I'm uncertain if it was just a random assortment of letters or it was an easter egg.

Xbox one has 768 shader cores and the PS4 has 1152, so the ps4 has 33.3% more graphics processing power, but xbox one has a more powerful CPU, which is only beneficial depending on the engine, i.e. EA's frostbite engine utilizes the CPU more than most engines so ea games should in theory run better on the xbox one.

There is more that goes into a GPU than how many shader cores it has. While PS4 does have the better GPU I guarantee you its not by 33%
