blizzard is the reason this movie will fail, changing the lore for the movie is bad, im sure duncan jones could have made the movie work without having to change anything, but fucking blizzard just had to water down and destroy their own lore

I love in the interview at the end that both sides struggle with the WoW player's guilt. I expected someone to put their hand on someone else's shoulder and say, "this is a safe place. It's ok."

What I love about games in general is complicated/ innovative mechanics that adjust to gameplay. I loved Mark of the Ninja for that reason (with the five million play styles and specifically the dependence on visualized sound rather than actual visuals with information), Portal was another I loved to explore. Games like Undertale and the inability to delete as a function, Paper Please's use of anxiety (it was almost more of a psychological game than a paper sorting simulator), Stanley Parable's mechanic of true choice as an ability the player can use to shape the game rather than progress through it, Super Hot's use of movement equaling time (therefore allowing the player to understand time as a distance rather than an inhibitor/ measurement, instead of the player being able to preform actions under a certain time, we are pushed to preform in time under a limit of actions).

I love games where you can tell the developer was interested in how their game actually worked, that the depth might not be deep but could have valueable/ interesting substance nonetheless. Then as a player, the game becomes interesting to us as well.

It's always cool when there are different people on the patch. Keep it up! I also liked in the interview, that even though Gus took the reigns, Geoff seemed really engaged the whole time.

It was nice hearing you guys talk about how important stories in games are, and how crucial they are when when it comes to drawing you in. After having that issue come up in Dudesoup, where they all cite stories in games as irrelevant and awful compared to other mediums.

I think they should do the World War III package, which would be remastered versions of Modern Warfare, 2, & 3, along with a single multiplayer for all that has the maps from each game.

Man this was a perfect cast! Really getting in depth to just what they enjoy in video games and such a strong knowledge of the history

Yea, the BoS in Fallout 4 were assholes. I'm working on getting the last few achievements in Fallout 4, and I'm dreading having to be nice to the Brotherhood.

Seeing Duncan and Robert as huge fans of Warcraft makes me feel like the film is in great hands. Really hope it's good!

I agree completly, but I do wish they were making it full cg rather then live action.

      Full cg is extremely expensive

I noticed the rampant Windows mobile devices in Quantum Break because I'm the only one here where I live that has any. It grabbed my attention because it was out of place for me when everyone here is iOS. After that, I looked to see what other stuff there was and immediately locked onto the Nissan stuff. Unless something grabs my attention, I actually ignore product placement. (Though I like to make a joke about loudly noticing excessive product placement and getting thrown out of a theater/re.) Otherwise, the story usually keeps me distracted (if there's a story).

In my Skyrim house I put all the books I collected in a barrel. Sometimes I still boot it up just to go read stories. Yeah I could do that online, but there's something about having it in game that just makes it feel more immersive.

That said, can you imagine doing that in VR? Just sit on your couch and read a virtual book in a video game world, awesome.

Did you ever play the PC version of Oblivion? I am sure there was a version in Skyrim as well, but in the testing hall, they placed all the books of a game into a library room of sorts where you could walk around and pick up a book and read. In Skyrim, it may have just been a chest, or you could have gone to the Library in the College, but it was always nice to see the work the characters have put in to make a life in just written word inside of the games.

I always liked looking into the series books. Keeping a collection coherent and learning a bit of lore around the world I was destroying/creating in equal parts. But every aspect of gaming I think could be enhanced this way, crafting, cooking, a physical bartering system and location in MMO's, down to even simply not relying on stat weights for things like stealth instead line of sight and lighting that you could look down and recognize. We're still scratching the surface in my opinion but we're inching closer and closer to 1:1 immersion, and I can't wait

I love Miles and Jeremy of course, but why are they on? It sounds like Meg and Ashley are in the office and that this was planned.

    No hate, just wondering.

TO answer the question about what my favorite thing about games, is definitely the ability to play with friends, especially locally. I would 100 times over rather play a shitty game with 4 friends on a couch, than sit alone and play Fallout 4.
