Low FoV definitely makes me motion sick. I once vomited while playing Bioshock Infinite before I learned what FoV was. :(

I think my favorite collectibles have to be those in Halo. The skulls are cool. Stuffed toys and soda cans? Also cool. BUT THE TERMINALS. Come on, you can find little extra super-stylized awesome mini-movies!!! (I'm a nerd for stylized 2D/3D-hybrid animation)

The guy on twitter didn't really explain the artifact system correctly. You get relics from instances, but you also need to collect artifact power. When you've collected enough power you get trait points used to unlock power-ups; like extra damage on certain abilities, being able to move while casting a certain spell,... Not being able to loot weapons (we all like looks) kinda sucks, but this expansion is still 10 times better than the three previous ones together.

Checked new games on Steam due to discussion on this and installed "True Or False" (cute little game) and one of the questions was about the Vanilla flower and it asked me about one second before Gus said the word "vanilla" (in relation to WoW)! Love coincidences :P

Ryan is right. That is how you learn how to do it.

I did watch the fish go by to when I played Bioshock way back when.

I wasn't a fan of the story in Bioshock 2 either.  Would you kindly.

I agree with ya Ryan, as so as I'm looking for collectibles the game is no longer fun.  Feels more like a drag.

I use Pinnacle Game Profiler Program if controller support is not available on a game.   It works for me.

Adam is completely correct. Don't pre order games

Adam is making WoW sound much more negative than it actually is.  Every specialization of every class has a unique weapon, so there's a lot more than you think.  It makes your weapon a lot more personal; it levels up with you, upgrades as you go, has somewhere over a dozen weapon skins each, plus all the transmog stuff.  Its one of the best new things to come to WoW.

That sounds so much like FFXIV. You have a relic weapon that you do quests to upgrade the weapon. Mind you, SE made it so freaking hard to get from the i200 to i210 weapon

~ 48:45 - when Ryan says that, taking as a given a dev's budget and human capital, that dev's are making questionable decisions..... this is beautiful and is the same question I have for my favorite game, constantly. Someone at 343i said, lets release Halo 5 with a quarter of the gametypes that all the other games have had. I had this conversation with two dudes I play competitive with, both programmers, and when I asked them about the decision making in Halo they both told me all about all of the things in the development cycle that I'm not aware (except that I knew most of it). And at the end, I asked how all of that information applied to the question of questionable decision making, and they were completely stumped. Thank you Ryan!! This is something that needs to be asked of more games

TLDR; Smart consumers make better decisions and improve their marketplace which makes businesses produce a better product which encourages more spending by consumers... this is better for everyone. And if you need a real world example; the general consumer market in Japan is a perfect one; buy anything there e.g. camera and it'll work for better and for longer than the "same" model bought anywhere else (where lower QA applies).

      --

And that someone really isn't that stupid when most gamers buy the broken stuff anyway... particularly when such a large number of people can't be bothered to get a refund on a bad game, bothers to remember that that studio is rubbish (or can't tell because the port was sub-contracted and the porters name isn't the main one on the box - though I'm never buying an Iron Galaxy port ever) and, finally, gives the devs money before they've even delivered (pre-orders).

So... to fix this problem, stop throwing money at these guys who claim to have white elephants until you see the actual white elephant... it'll happen eventually but it'll take less time if people use the brains in their heads.

(Curiously this has happened - eventually - at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; there are thousands of paid shows by even the most rubbish comedians and theatre groups but there is a quickly growing number of "free" shows where you donate what you think it was worth at the end of the show that are really where most of the new up and coming talent is at, and because it is "free" more people go to see more shows, especially via word of mouth, and give more money to the performers who are good than they'd get in paid shows (once fees and percentages are taken from them by everyone involved in ticket sales etc.), the marginal ones squeek by and the naff ones disappear or have to reinvent themselves. This is how it should be.)

      {My dad and I bought the same (DSLR) camera model; me in Tokyo, he in London. Both still work and have lasted over ten years but his broke twice in that time and needed fixes (one of the fixes needed a fix as well but then it was done in London too :( - mine's still the original.}

I missed last week's episode, so this is the first I'm hearing of Metzen retiring. As a WoW player off and on from 2005, that actually depresses me a lot.

I stopped watching the patch ages ago because they wouldn't shut up about Destiny. The first Patch ep I decide to watch in nearly 2 years and their still going on about Destiny. Holy crap. The game may be fun, but the in depth discussions about it are boring.

You chose to listen to the Patch, which talks about video game news, the first airing after the release of a new expansion in Destiny, and are shocked that they mentioned Destiny?

Well considering I don't follow Destiny, I was unaware of dlc coming out for the game. Only watch because they were discussing Bioshock. I still think the in-depth discussion of that game can get boring to those who neither play the game nor care about it.

I never had problems with FOV and I'm a pc and console gamer but I played No Man's Sky on PS and the FOV took me hours to get used to and not get sick and i NEVER get motion sickness but in NMS it was almost unbearable

Whenever Bioshock 2 gets brought up on the Patch, they never seem to give any good reason for why they don't like it other than "it's shit" or "Ken Levine didn't make it". I've always liked Bioshock 2 as much as the other ones. In some aspects, I even preferred the story over Infinite's.

All the talk of FOV is just weird. A lot of games 'fish eye' when the FOV goes up, and to me makes the game look way worse. I'm fine with just...'turning' in a game. But maybe it's because I wear glasses and my FOV normally is crap :P

Legion is easily by favorite WoW expansion.  I love the artifact weapons and the fact that there is such a strong emphasis on making classes feel unique again.

For years i definitely feel like ive been cheated with all the games hitting PC that are just broken day one. Ive lost faith in nearly ever dev that says their releasing their game on PC. Batman was the last straw that broke me.  i led my self to believe arkham knight would work day one and boy was i wrong. Only dev i have any real faith left in is Blizzard and any dev that works mostly on PC. Im so glad Steam has reviews and return system. But even then most games on PC are just ports. So even then im not getting a game really built for my PC. Im just usually getting a game that just runs and i feel like devs are just saying im lucky that i even got their game to begin with. So yeah call me jaded but at times i do feel like PC gamers dont get respect in the industry.
