Mass Effect 3 dlc is great. Not playing them means you've lost out on a great experience.

What was the last game to come out that you guys felt was truly innovative? Alot of people complain that all games now just recycle old mechanics and are way too riddled with sequels, there's no originality anymore.

Ashley, if you own Skyrim and the 3 DLCs on PC you get the Remaster for free.

Its on a better engine (64bit) so might be worth playing again

Since they talked a lot about endings this Patch (cause of RDR, DLC continuing a story) it'd be interesting to hear (for the next post show) what was the worst ending to a game you have ever experienced?

I would like Morrowind and Oblivion redone in the new Skyrim remastered engine...I'd buy Skyrim again if those were offered as DLC.

Someone needs to tell Ashley about Skyblivion and Skywind. Remakes of Morrowwind and Oblivion for Skyrim. True right down to geography and cliff racers.

I couldn't disagree more with you guys about story DLC. I hate when I pick up a sequel and I don't understand something because it was part of a DLC I didn't play. Mass Effect 2 had important DLC that I never played but was a big part of the story for Mass Effect 3.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the Mass Effect DLC was a big part of the story. If you didn't play Arrival, or Overlord, those things barely get mentioned (if they come up at all). They are good experiences, and inform the story if you play them, but they're not required. I think Bioware did a great job, for example, with Leviathan. Had a ton of really interesting exposition on the main plot, but if you didn't have it, the game still made sense (ignoring the ending people are still mad about).

On the other hand, Dragon Age (which yes, is also Bioware) DLC has been very bad at this. As far as I'm aware, the last two Dragon Age games have had DLC that directly correlated to the next game. Legacy from DA II introduces the main villain of DA I, and now Mica is saying Trespasser from DA I informs whatever Dragon Age title is next.

If I wasn't clear, the distinction is that the Dragon Age DLC has relevant plot information that you miss if you don't play it, while the Mass Effect DLC is hardly mentioned if you don't play it.

Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep. Environment was beautiful, story was a humorous D&D parody, weapons were cool, and the story HITS YOU IN THE FEELS.

    10/10

Also, for a topic idea: obscure games that you love but nobody/not nearly enough people have heard of. I need games to play.

My favorite DLCs are from the Souls/Borne games. Every single Souls/Borne DLC is an expansion with many hours of content and brand new areas/enemies/items/etc. They are also very important to the story line. The three DLCs in Dark Souls 2, combined with the Scholar of the First Sin patch, added a new ending and completely transformed the entire plot from a Sisyphean task to … at least progress towards the unknown.

I have a question, what do you guys think of moral choice systems? I just finished a High Chaos (basically the “bad” ending) run in Dishonored and I got rather annoyed. It wasn’t quite as bad as Dragon Age Inquisition having a choice between, giving an ingredient to a woman to save her husband’s life, or giving her a fake. Just because. However, in Dishonored, during Low Chaos (minor spoilers ahead) the Empress gets the title of “Wise” and ushers in a Golden Age. In High Chaos, she once comments that, when she takes over, she will have two ships built so they can crash into each other and she can watch the men drown. Keep in mind, you can get high chaos by killing a few more random guards and getting seen a few more times.

Mass Effect Citadel was perfect for me. I had just to start the final mission, then I triggered the DLC. A fun little romp leading into the serious stuff at the end

So what was Dragonborn, chopped liver? Going back to Solstheim was a lot of fun after having played Bloodmoon.

Mass Effect 3 Citadel. Dragon Age Awakening was basically Dragon Age 2. The real Dragon Age 2 being Dragon Age 3 in my mind. Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea. Nearly everything in halo 5 because it's all free. I'm really sounding like a basic bitch here.
