Idk this is a complicated issue as they point out. For the most part im willing to bet a large part of the individuals probably can probably voice act all of their lines within a week. For games like mass effect or WoW I'm sure it takes longer and the process is far more difficult but for the most part it would seem like a voice actor could get all their lines done within a week. So for a straight voice actor it doesn't seem that right imo to be getting paid a whole whole lot. Cuz at that point what their doing while important is really just a small part of the process.  At the same time I feel like if the game is a AAA title the people should at least be getting paid more than someone who is acting on an indie role. After all if the voice actor loses their voice for a week or longer that's a whole period of time where they aren't getting paid. Unless they have a side job.  IF their doing physical stuff and voice acting then yeah I definitely get why they would want to get paid a whole lot more. That just adds a whole lot of extra variables that could cause the actor injuries. There is at the least one situation I can see where the voice actor getting some form of residual and that's if they play a major part in the game like Master Chief, or commander Shephard.  At a certain point, the biggest separation for a lot of these main characters are not only their appearances but their voice. These high profile role voice actors are basically the "Super stars" of the video game industry and the roles they play are as popular as they are because of the voice behind the pixels.

I don't think the actors should get residuals for games. As they said, they are just one part of a bigger whole. I do think they deserve increased pay if it goes beyond just voice. If they're also doing mocap, there should be additional pay for that part. Game studios should also meet the same standards as TV and movies studios in terms of safety. Some directors saying, "you should be fine" is not enough if the talent is doing stunt work.

I like Eddie. RT seems to have a lot of cool employees who are hardly ever on screen (which is understandable, it's just nice to know that they all seem like good people).

Just a side note but the thumbnail shows the run time to be 17:42 when the actual video is actually 14:22.

So i have to admit, this is my first time watching the Patch Post Show...So this may of been mentioned before but why is it not called "The Hot Fix?" Like a shorter quicker version of a patch? I'm sure this has been suggested 100 times and all of you are sick of hearing the suggestion...if that's the case...disregard this comment!

I truly don't understand why this is controversial.  A union will move to protect its members when they're being mistreated.  Because that's what Unions DO.  The Unions fight to protect the workers, the major companies fight to protect their profit margins.  If the game developers don't like it, then FORM A FUCKING UNION.  Maybe try fighting for yourselves rather than just sabotaging everyone around you out of petty jealousy.

The worst part about this strike: Bungie's going to have to recast Ghost for the second time in 2 games. Unless they get Peter Dinklage back. Don't know if he's in SAG-AFTRA or not...

I sort of miss Eric Avari being in literally everything. Back in the 90s he used to be in everything. Most recent thing I've seen him in is Destiny, and before that, Heroes in 2006. I mean sure, he played every middle-aged Indian, Israeli, and middle-eastern character from 1985 to 2008, but it's weird not to see him anywhere anymore.
