Try out the swindle please. I want to know if it's any good. Also, do they remember that community suggests stuff?

Wow, all the characters are named after colors? Can you imagine if there were other red-themed people with stupid names like Ruby or Rose, or a white-themed character named Weiss? That would be so dumb.

Yikes, it seems I'm 0 for 2 for games I've recommended, then had shunned on air: first The Banner Saga, and now Danganronpa! It seems I don't have much luck with this. Let me try something new with this recommendation:

Don't play the indie game called The Flame in the Flood. It's a rogue-lite game where you attempt to survive a flooded-out, mostly abandoned America armed with only your wits, a cute dog, and a raft to float on down the river. It's built up a little like Don't Starve (don't, well, starve, keep energized, etc.) except there's a supposed goal you're trying to float towards. The game is split between raiding campsites, wilderness, gas stations, etc. for supplies while avoiding dangerous creatures, and riding your raft to the next supply spot. The art style feels like a mix between Firewatch and The Walking Dead, with warm, rural southern guitars to drown the dread of dying to wild boars, disease, or the poisoned waters that surround you.

It's not a perfect game (inventory system is occasionally unwieldy), but it definitely has a fun setting, and should be an interesting pick for this. Whatever you do, don't put it into the cylinder. Do not select it, and do not play it.

    (Hope this works!)

Danganronpa is a murder mystery investigation game I think you guys would enjoy it at the very least I HIGHLY recommend it. It is a long game and it is a visual novel but with point-and-click investigations and logic based court room scenes similar to Ace Attorney.

I really wish this was bimonthly when the games are this short, but I guess it's hard to tell when they'll have time to play the game through. Still love game club though

Sad that they aren't giving Danganronpa a chance. Though it's on PC now, it definitely suffered for being a long time Vita exclusive (as much as I like mine...). The game is fairly long though, so maybe it just isn't meant to be.

The format of interrogations sounds like LA Noire.

Yeah, Who's Your Daddy is really fun (and entertaining to watch) but there probably isn't much to talk about after playing.

I like Gus's removal of game suggestions for which people will not take credit. I also like the idea of making game club a 2 week event instead of monthly. The format seems best for lesser known, shorter games which provoke discussion more than anything. For that reason I want to suggest again "The Beginner's Guide" to game club simply because it offers an experience closer to an interactive venture into unique game ideas from a person that the narrator admires and which provokes so many avenues for discussion, and it is easily consumed like a feature film because it averages 90 minutes in length.

I'm really hoping they do I Am Setsuna next month. Er, whenever. But 2 weeks might not be enough time.

Regardless, Ryan still won't finish it.

If it took 2 hours to play this game maybe you should consider making game club twice a month, four weeks for such a short gameplay doesn't make sense!

It kind of does, with their E3 and RTX schedule. However, the previous Game Club appears to have been recorded some weeks before it was put out, so... yeah, I agree.

From my understanding of anime, "esper" is essentially ESPer= person who has extra sensory perception. That's just what I think anyway. Hopefully that helps anyone who comes across this word in this context again.

ESPer refers to a person who has ExtraSensory Perception. It got real usage in a lot of anime.

I can kinda understand not picking it for the murder scenes and the executions, but those don't need to shown, they can just mention that there is a reason for the M rating.
