Obduction, the Kickstarted spiritual successor to Myst by the Miller brothers, will be coming to PlayStation 4 in 2017, and will also be getting VR support for PlayStation VR and HTC Vive. The game first launched VR support for Oculus Rift on October 31, but does not yet support some of the more robust VR functionality.
Work has already begun to add room scale VR and hand control support to the game. Hand control will allow players to interact directly with objects in the game world.
In a statement to VentureBeat, Cyan CEO Rand Miller said, "We’re going all-in on VR. And the PlayStation breaks open our availability as a much broader platform for us. I [was] amazed at how good this looks on a console."
Obduction released in August this year to a positive reception, and it passed its original Kickstarter goal of $1.1 million with a final funding of $1.3 million in November 2013.
