We’re going to talk about SJWs for a second and how they do more damage than good. There is a too long didn’t read if you don’t want to read everything. If you’re an SJW with an open mind that can stay calm, buckle in friendo. If you’re an SJW that gets offended by everything and refuses to see reason even if the person is agreeing with you (not the case here though) then you need to click out now because I’m not dealing with it.
On twitter I saw a girl shorten Japanese to Jap. She genuinely didn’t know it held any derogatory term. It would be if someone that just barely came to America used the N word after hearing it for the first time. The correct response would be to calmly explain why it shouldn’t be used.
And that’s mostly what I saw. A lot of people politely saying “hey, I know you didn’t mean anything by it. But you shouldn’t use that.” Then of course I saw a few flipping out on her. She was overly apologetic and seemed upset with this mistake. Understandably. In America these days you can’t even breathe wrong without someone getting offended.
I got on there and in an attempt to be like “honest mistake, don’t beat yourself up” told her how my Japanese teacher uses it while the school uses JPN. And she is actually Japanese. I don’t just mean Japanese language teacher. I mean born and raised in Japan with a daughter born and raised in Japan.
People mostly liked it. A few that didn’t agree with the teacher made a comment but added lol, lmao, emojis, etc so it didn’t come across as very rude. It just seemed like “that’s awful! But I don’t want you to think I’m very angry.”
Then one girl, that I found out later is not even Japanese, gets on there and says my teacher is a failure at being Japanese. Just process that for a second, a non Japanese SJW is so offended at what a Japanese person calls a Japanese class to the point they have denounced the Japanese persons nationality. Does it make sense? Yea, I don’t get it either. To me that more offensive than a girl accidentally using the wrong term.
If you don’t see how it’s wrong for a Non Japanese person to say a Japanese person fails their nationality, as sadly a few hardcore SJWs did, then let me ask you this- would you tell a black they are “not black enough”? Would you say “you’re acting white”? Probably not. And if you would say that, then we need to have another discussion.
I sarcastically made a response about should I tell her to go back to Japan then. Can you guess what the SJW said back? If you guess she flipped out even more, you’d be poorly mistaken. She agreed with me! She said I should tell my teacher that, again called her a failure at being Japanese, and added “if she even actually is”. So basically some moronic SJW that can’t think for themselves and is so set on being offended, they say something even more offensive.
I called her out on her rudeness. And I had people coming after me for calling her out. Why? Oh they gave me a reason. I’m white. Yep. Because I’m white is what made it offensive and ignorant for me to call her out. It is somehow more socially acceptable for someone that isn’t white to diminish someones background and saying they need to go back to where they came from than it is for a white person to call out someone saying that shit.
SJWs mean well. But they’re basically going “here, let me be offended for you. My moral compass is so on point I will fight this for you! Oh you’re not offended? Fuck you then! You’re just as bad as them!” SJWs wind up doing more damage than good. This goes for everything. I’m sick of the “you can’t be racist towards white people”. If you argue it you get told “you can’t be racist towards someone with power and privilege”. Stick with me on this. Finish reading, keep your mind open, and then you can decide whether you want to bitch like a faithful SJW.
The dictionary definition is you holding a prejudice against someone based on the BELIEF your race is superior. It says nothing about it actually being superior, just that you believe it is. Korea is a wonderful example. North Korea believes they are superior to South Korea.... and... the entire world really.... meaning North Korean is racist af. In a war, they’d lose for sure. They’re behind everyone on everything from equal rights to basic technology. But they can still be racist because they firmly believe they are superior and that everyone else needs to go. Don’t be a North Korea, kids.
So not only do SJWs ignore the actual dictionary definition. When they argue that “white people can’t experience racism” they’re implying that they believe white people are superior. This goes beyond who they think has privilege and holds power. This is them genuinely believing other races are inferior and need protected from racism that only they can experience. Which is extremely fucked up on its own. I never got how people didn’t see how implying only certain groups can experience racism wasn’t racist in itself because their reasoning is literally “they’re lesser than this group, therefore only they can experience racism”.
Send those people to the villages in Alaska and watch how they interact with white people. Okay well, literally anyone that isn’t Native but it’s mostly directed at white people. There is such a strong hatred they were taught there that they will become physically violent or threaten with physical violence. And if any non white person stands up to them, the attack turns on them. My niece and nephew are half Native, half white. I’ve seen them physically attacked by Native kids and had things stolen from them while the parents watch laughing. When the kids go back to the parents, they praise them for “teaching that white kid a lesson”.
Are you honestly going to tell me it’s not racist for someone to physically assault someone for being white and use the excuse “someone else has it worse”? That’s like telling a family struggling to feed themselves living in a home with no heat, eletricity, or water (or even living in a car) and going “well, there are people with less than you, so you can’t be poor”. And I have seen that bullshit. I have seen remarks about white homeless people and how they still have more privilege or how they really failed to realize how privileged they are. I don’t even know. There’s some weird bs about that though.
I’ve had women go out of their way to get in front of me while I’m walking the telling me I need to get out of their way because I’m just some inferior white person. I’ve had people come up to me in the Native hospital, where I’m waiting for my boyfriend, and tell me how disgusted they are to see me in the same building as them and say the hospital should just let me die. This has happened multiple times. I’ve had someone on the bus screaming all white people should be murdered because they don’t contribute anything and just make everything worse, he kept going on about how everyone white person deserves to be killed.
I will admit. It’s not the same extent as other people experience, that doesn’t take away the fact it is still racist. People can be racist towards white people and they can be racist towards their own race. That’s another one I see brushed off. Someone says something about their own race and people go “well they are that race so it can’t be racist”. No, trust me, racism can go any which way. People can even boomerang it back to themselves.
And the real kicked to all this is, an SJW will get mad at a white person for not standing up to any sort of racism and say they’re just as problematic, but when they do stand up the SJW will complain about how a white person felt like they had to get involved and indicate they’re racist because they’re speaking up for another race. I even had an SJW “friend” say I was ignorant and side with the girl that made the offensive remark about my Japanese teacher. Yep. I’m ignorant. For saying it’s fucked up for another person to say a Japanese person fails their race and should go back to their own country.
People need to realize to combat racism or anything offensive really, you can’t further distance yourself and stand up alone. You need to ignore your differences and stand up to something with everyone you can get involved. The other thing they don’t get is you can’t fight hate with hate. If you attack someone or say something more offensive to combat something offensive, nobody will listen. If you calmly explain your point, people will listen. And if they’re not an asshole they might stay equally civil and go “wow I never saw it that way.”
It’s the equivalent of a dog barking. If one dog isn’t familiar with another dog, they bark. And it might become a barking match, nothing gets done from this. It could turn into a physical fight, only damage is done from this. But if the dogs stay calm, they familiarize themselves and things are okay. They’re fine with each other. People just need to learn to calmly talk things out instead of fighting for their cause. Fighting just draws us more apart and they’re so worried about being offended that they don’t even see that.
TL;DR A non Japanese person called a Japanese person a failure and said they should go back to Japan because of how they choose to shorten Japanese. And because I’m white, I’m racist for calling out the non Japanese SJW.
